I did very little birding in 2007, which is reflected in my GA yearly number of 278 species.
Compare that to 328 species I had for 2006 and 343 species found in GA for 2002.
The few times times I went out this year produced some really good sightings, though. Just in the last month, three
outings produced White Ibis in the piedmont in winter, good ducks, Lapland Longspurs, Red-necked Grebe, Ground-doves in piedmont
in several different locations, and what appeared to be a Spotted Towhee (though I would like to look into the this complex
more before or if I go further with the id).
Most of the birds I found beside my house while I was working in the yard or driving to and fro. I enjoyed
seeing a couple Swallow-tailed Kites near my house as well as Dickcissel, Lincoln, and Lark Sparrow, and much, much
more.
Good Birding!
