I found this ALDER FLYCATCHER at West Point Lake Dam on 10/06/08. The bird was secretive but stayed in the general
area allowing me to snap a number of shots of it. It took about ten minutes of waiting until I heard it's 'pip' which
was brought on by being crowded by some other birds. To me the head of Alders always has a unique jizz to it.
Always fun to see and one of my favorites of the migrants.
I'm typically able to identify one or two a year...if I'm really out birding. I believe the last one I had
was at the Conyers Horse Park a couple years ago when I had two, and I did manage to capture one of them singing on video.
