On Aug 28, 2006, I checked Perry Super Sod Farm and found two Buff-breasted Sandpipers.

I also checked the Marshallville Sod Farm and found 52 Upland Sandpipers.

On July 30, Michael Beohm and I discovered at least 24 Upland Sandpipers in Marshallville, and we thought as many as 52 total in the distance.  It is interesting that I counted exactly 52 this time.  I only checked  a small part of the sod farm, so there may have been even more.

In August many birders were able to relocate about 30 or so of these birds.  I assume that 52 would be a new high count for GA.  Quite a drive from the Atlanta area, but what a treat!
