Here is a POMARINE JAEGER found inland at West Point Lake by Michael on 09/14/06. We initially thought Pomarine,
but we weren't sure if we could rule out Parasitic. Michael's was able to analyze some flight photos and was able to
identify it as a Pomarine. Also, feedback from other birds is that the bird is definitely a Pomarine because of the
large bi-colored bill which was a convincing fieldmark.
The would be only the second or third inland record for this species.
Until recently, jaegers were thought to be just pelagic birds, but Michael recently also found GA's first inland LONG-TAILED
JAEGER, and Michael and I found an inland PARASITIC JAEGER last year.
