Michael Beohm and I discovered this Franklin's Gull at Tybee Island on 11/20/05.
Update: The bird continues to be seen into mid-December.
I think this was the only Franklin's reported in GA for the year.

Michael Beohm and I did some birding on the GA coast yesterday, 11/20/05.  The weather was windy with mist and rain for most of the day, but the birding was good.

We first checked Tybee Island:

Franklin's Gull (1)
Red-throated Loon (11)
Sandwich Tern (5)
Surf Scoter (11)
Purple Sandpiper (5)

Black Scoter (500+)
Northern Gannet (100+)
Common Loon (5)
Bald Eagle (1)
American Oystercatcher (42)
Great Black-backed Gull (3)
Lesser Black-backed Gull (10+)

We then checked the south beach of Jekyll Island.  The rain hampered our efforts there.  Highlights were:

Reddish Egret (1)
Caspian Tern (1)

We finally made a quick check of Andrew's Island Causeway.  We were surprised to find:

American White Pelican (50+)
Roseate Spoonbill (3)
Mottled/Black Duck (2)
American Avocet (11)
